Polyolefin and Isocyanides (as well as some other ingredients) are mixed in a mixing device in a fluid state and then injected as a liquid mass into a mold. The solidification of the liquid mass occurs in the mold as the mixed liquids react with the heated surface of the tool surface.
The advantage of this process is a low clamping force needed for the mold, long material travel paths and the low pressure conditions of the molding process. The necessary molds can be manufactured quickly and cost effectively using aluminum.
DCPD-RIM
DCPD material is a frequent choice for exterior body parts. It features great mechanical properties, even under low temperatures and has an excellent chemical resistance. It is a low-pressure process and its low tooling costs make it ideal for plastic parts with lower run quantities.
PU-RIM
We process hard integral foams, compact systems as well as soft PU systems. Using various fillers can deliver parts with high stiffness or fire resistant properties. Currently we are able to mould parts up to 5 liters. Among soft PU we have a unique expertise using a high capacity carousel line. A soft engine cover made by combining two different PU systems is achieving excellent noise and heat insulation properties.
PA-RIM
NYrim ® is a modified PA and is best suit for high demanding applications. The properties of the material can be modified so a more rubber like or stiff product can be moulded. The material can be filled with various fillers and can even be colored. It is a low pressure process, the parts can be produced with changeable wall thickness and ribs without any sink marks on the A surface.
